What is ricche.info?
This site is an automated data brief by Kevin Ricche built in Claude Code. This is just an experimental demo. The site pulls live data from public APIs and presents it in a clean, simple format.
Earthquake Data
Earthquake information comes from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) via their public FDSN web service API. The data covers the contiguous United States (the lower 48 states).
The USGS monitors seismic activity across the globe in real time. Their data is free, open, and considered the gold standard for earthquake information. Events are typically reported within minutes of occurring.
Launch Data
Space launch information is provided by The Space Devs through their Launch Library 2 API. This site filters for US-based launch sites including Cape Canaveral, Kennedy Space Center, Vandenberg Space Force Base, Wallops Island, and others.
Launch Library 2 aggregates data from space agencies and launch providers worldwide. Launch times and statuses are updated as information becomes available, so check back for the latest on upcoming missions.
Technical Details
The site is built with plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no frameworks, no build tools, no server-side rendering. Features include a light/dark theme (respects your system preference), responsive layout for mobile and desktop, and filter controls on the earthquake page for adjusting time range and minimum magnitude.
